New Cathedral Administrator Appointed

St Paul’s Cathedral Melbourne is delighted to announce the appointment of Andreas Kiessling as the new Cathedral Administrator (General Manager). Kiessling succeeds Trevor Whittaker who, in January 2023, has taken on the newly-created role of Commercial Manager, overseeing the Cathedral Visitor Centre and Giftshop.

Commenting on the appointment, Dean Andreas Loewe said:

‘We are delighted to have Andreas join our team. His experience and leadership skills, combined with his faith and his strong passion for sustainability, will help us to further our vision and mission for St Paul’s’.

With over twenty years of experience in carpentry, IT administration, project management, and a successful career in the aviation industry, Andreas Kiessling brings his faith, skills, and passion to St Paul’s. As Cathedral Administrator, he will coordinate the Cathedral’s business operations to fund its outreach and ministry. He will also work closely with the Cathedral’s Surveyor of the Fabric to ensure the preservation of the Cathedral’s landmark buildings for future generations, including working towards the Cathedral’s ambition to reach net-zero as soon as possible.

Kiessling said:

‘I am honoured to join the staff at St Paul’s Cathedral and am excited to contribute to its mission and vision. I see my work as ministry, and am thrilled to be working in a community of faith. I am passionate about sustainability and very much look forward to helping the Cathedral meet its ambition to become an eco-friendly and carbon neutral environment’.

Andreas Kiessling is married to the Revd Kim Kiessling, Pastor of Holy Trinity Church Parliament Place, and will commence in his new role on 1 March 2023.

The Cathedral will be open from 10am-1pm on ANZAC Day, with an ecumenical service at 11am.Click here for service details
