Conducting Scholar
The Dean and Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral seek expressions of interest from appropriately trained musicians to be auditioned by the Director of Music for appointment as a Conducting Scholar. The Conducting Scholar will work closely with the Director of Music in learning and helping with the running of the Cathedral Music Program, with a special focus on preparing to conduct, and conducting the Cathedral Choir. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the successful candidate to learn and contribute to the future of church music. The scholarship provides $2000 per school term ($8000 per annum) from the St Paul’s Cathedral Music Foundation, plus any other honoraria payable for singing or accompanying. Applicants should hold or be reading for a music degree, must have a valid Working With Children Check and should lodge an email expressing interest with the Director of Music Mr Philip Nicholls (pnicholls@stpaulscathedral.org.au) by 5pm on Thursday 14 May.
