St Paul’s celebrates the Ordination of 15 new Deacons

We were delighted to celebrate the Ordination of 15 new Deacons in the Church of God on Saturday 4 February.

The ordination was by the Right Revd Dr Brad Billings, Archbishop’s Commissary, and the Ordination Sermon was preached by the Revd Christine Barren, Deacon in the Parish of Flinders and Balnarring, who encouraged the new Deacons to model their lives on the service of Christ. It was a particularly special occasion for Christine who marked almost 20 years to the day since her own Ordination as a Deacon.

The new deacons will serve in parishes and chaplaincies across Melbourne and Geelong, and we wish them every blessing in this new stage of their ministry.
