We were delighted to celebrate the Ordination of 18 new Priests on Saturday 26 November.
The Ordination service was led by Archbishop Philip Freier, the Archbishop of Melbourne, and the sermon was preached by the Right Revd Kate Prowd, Assistant Bishop, marking almost 30 years to the day of her own ordination as Priest among the first cohort of women to be priested in the Diocese of Melbourne.
We’re delighted that among those to be ordained, four of the candidates have previously ministered at the Cathedral as members of staff and student ministers.
The new priests will minister in parishes and chaplaincies across Melbourne and Geelong and we wish them God’s richest blessing as they commence this next stage in their ministry.
