We give thanks for the long life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday 8 September BST, 2022.
The Dean of Melbourne, Dr Andreas Loewe, said: “Queen Elizabeth has been a magnificent ambassador of the Christian faith. Her deeply held convictions shaped her service to our nation and the commonwealth of nations. Sunday’s service will be an opportunity for the people of Victoria to honour our late Queen and to pray for King Charles and all who mourn with us the death of a greatly loved leader”.

Prayers for use at this time
A prayer for King Charles III
Almighty God, the fountain of all goodness,
bless our Sovereign Lord, King Charles,
and all who are in authority under him;
that they may order all things in wisdom and equity,
righteousness and peace,
to the honour and glory of your name
and the good of your Church and people;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
A prayer following the death of Queen Elizabeth II
Thanks be to God for the gift of life:
You have made us in your image,
and called us to reflect your truth and light.
We thank you for the life of Elizabeth, our Late Queen,
for her faithful devotion, dutiful commitment,
loving leadership, gentle constancy,
royal dignity and kindly humanity.
Above all, we thank you for your gracious promise
to all your servants, living and departed,
that we shall be made one again
in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
