Service of Prayer for Ukraine • 20 March

This Sunday, 20 March at 4.00pm, St Paul’s Cathedral will hold a special service of Choral Evensong with Prayers for Peace in Ukraine.

All are welcome to attend this service, which will be held in the presence of representatives from the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy (Diocese) in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania.

The Cathedral is open every Tuesday to Saturday between 10am – 3pm and we offer a space for quiet prayer and to light a candle, a symbol of hope that even in deep darkness, light will prevail. We daily pray for peace in our world, remembering especially the people of Ukraine, and for all who are suffering and in fear at this time.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of the Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, Prince of Peace. Amen.
