Virtual Lunchtime Concert: Adam Simmons (alto & tenor saxophones, shakuhachi)

Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Join us for our “virtual” lunchtime concert series! Each month we will stream one concert on a Saturday afternoon from one of our regular Lunchtime Concert Performers for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Saturday 31st October: Songs of Solace – Adam Simmons (alto & tenor saxophones, shakuhachi)

Adam will perform a selection of original compositions interspersed with eclectic contributions by Krzysztof Komeda, Merle Haggard and Indonesia’s Sisir Tanah. Adam’s unique approach to the saxophone as both a melodic and textural instrument will reverberate in the beautiful space of St Paul’s Cathedral to create a beautifully lyrical and meditative concert.

The concert will be broadcast on the Cathedral’s Facebook page and Youtube Channel, as well as being available here on the website.

Help keep the music going! With a downturn in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, your support in exchange for these concerts is most welcome.
