Service | State Memorial for the Honourable Andrew Peacock AC GCL

A State Memorial for the Honourable Andrew Peacock AC GCL. (1939 – 2021) will take place at 11.00 am on Friday 11 February 2022 at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Mr Peacock was elected in 1966 to the House of Representatives as the member for Kooyong. He served as the Minister for the Army from 1969 to 1972, the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister from 1969 to 1971, the Minister Assisting the Treasurer from 1971 to 1972, the Minister for External Territories in 1972, the Minister for Environment in 1975, the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1975 to 1980, the Cabinet Minister from 1975 to 1981, the Minister for Industrial Relations from 1980 to 1981, and the Minister for Industry and Commerce from 1982 to 1983.

Mr Peacock was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in 1997 for his service to the Australian Parliament, to politics, and for the formulation and implementation of defence and foreign policy.

Family, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Memorial. There will be reserved seating for those on the Commonwealth Table of Precedence, the immediate family, close family friends and those who received a notice from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. All other seating will be in order of arrival until the Cathedral reaches capacity.

Those unable to attend will be able to access the Service online at https://www.pmc.gov.au/pmc/andrew-peacock. The Service will be live streamed from 11.00 am.

All those who attend will be required to wear a mask and to check in via the Victorian Government QR code. Please download the Service Victoria App prior to arriving at the Cathedral.
