Concert | Rohan Lyer (tuba) and Dr Nicholas Young (piano)

Wednesday, November 22 at 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm

This recital features two major works for tuba and piano. Three Slovak Scenes by Michael Forsyth depicts scenes of castles and churches from the heartlands of Central Europe. This will be the first complete live performance of the work. William Lovelock is nowadays known primarily as a music theorist but was also a prolific composer. This is a chance to hear his rarely performed Concerto for Bass Tuba.

About our Lunchtime Concert Series
A series of lunchtime concerts was launched in April 2013 to encourage city workers and others to come into and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These half-hour concerts at 1pm on Wednesdays provide fine music and space for contemplation in the midst of a busy week.
