Meredith Connie performs a solo guitar tribute to Lily Afshar, a Persian-born guitarist who bridged two worlds by translating ballads, lullabies, and love songs from the folk music of the land of her birth, Iran, into a classical medium through guitar. Afshar passed away last year, having raised the profile of female virtuoso guitarists around the world during her performing career.

About our Lunchtime Concert Series:
A series of lunchtime concerts was launched in April 2013 to encourage city workers and others to come into and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These half-hour concerts at 1pm on Wednesdays provide fine music and space for contemplation in the midst of a busy week
