The Kirsanova-Brozgul Duo was founded in 2022 by two accomplished Melbourne-based musicians, violinist Sophia Kirsanova and pianist Berta Brozgul, to explore the repertoire for violin and piano as equal and harmonious partners in chamber music. They will perform Australian composer Stuart Greenbaum’s Variations for solo violin – spirited, dance-like variations based on a Balkan-influenced theme, and Brahms’s famous Violin Sonata in G major – a favourite among the Romantic chamber music masterpieces.

About our Lunchtime Concert Series:
A series of lunchtime concerts was launched in April 2013 to encourage city workers and others to come into and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These weekly concerts at 1pm on Wednesdays provide fine music and space for contemplation in the midst of a busy week.
