Each Sunday, during the 10.30am Choral Eucharist
The Dean of Melbourne, The Very Revd Dr Andreas Loewe, reflects on what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus today, drawing on the Gospel of Luke and the thoughts of German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Following the 9.00am Eucharist and Morning Tea. These sessions will follow a Lent theme.

Preparation for Baptism and Confirmation on Easter Day.
At 6am on Easter Day, 21 April, we will have a service of Baptism and Confirmation. The Confirmation Preparation Course begins on Sunday 10 March, 12.15-1.15pm, following the morning services, and continuing at that time each Sundays until Easter Day. Gather at Federation Square for the blessing of Palms and join the procession to the Cathedral for the Choral Eucharist.

6:00pm Choral Eucharist with washing of feet
An evocative service remembering the Last Supper, at which Jesus washed the feet of his friends, followed by a silent vigil of prayer

Good Friday | 19th April 2019

9:00am Choral Liturgy of the Cross and Communion
A solemn telling of the Passion story in music and commemoration of the death of Jesus on the Cross with opportunity for personal prayers under the Cross

12:30pm Devotions under the Cross
A meditative service of readings, addresses, Passion hymns and prayers, marking the final three hours of Jesus’ life and his death on the Cross

7:00pm The Crucifixion – John Stainer
A telling of the Passion story through the music of John Stainer, performed by the Cathedral Choir of boys and men. Free admission: a donation of $25 per person will help cover the costs of this Good Friday tradition

6:00am Easter Vigil with Baptism and Confirmation
A dramatic dawn service from darkness to light, with lighting of the new fire and Easter candle, Baptism and Confirmation and first Eucharist of Easter

Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer 1662 with Easter hymns
